CLAN SPRM & COTOLA UNVEIL “BLOOD MOON PROPHECY”: A CROSS-CULTURAL HIP-HOP MOMENT ROOTED IN REALNESS

Montreal, QC – July 07, 2025 – In a game too often dictated by industry validation and fleeting attention spans, Montreal’s Clan Supreme and producer-visionary COTOLA are bypassing the gatekeepers and delivering truth straight to the people. Their upcoming collaborative album Blood Moon Prophecy isn’t just another project—it’s a seismic cultural moment that bridges borders, celebrates independence, and spotlights Montreal’s undeniable fire in hip-hop and Black music.

For over 20 years, Clan Supreme has been the pulse of Montreal’s underground scene—self-funded, self-driven, and unwavering in their mission. They’ve organized landmark shows, opened platforms for artists, sold thousands of records hand-to-hand, and made major cultural impact—all without traditional media support or institutional awards. Their fire has stayed lit through door-to-door campaigns, grassroots events at venues like the Phi Centre, and an unshakable belief that hip-hop is community first.

“We’ve done this without a co-sign. Without a grant. Without a write-up. And we’re still here,” says Clan Supreme. “That’s what makes this project with Cotola so powerful—two independent forces coming together off the strength of good music and mutual respect.”

Three Powerful Release Dates — Three Historic Moments

    •    June 27, 2025 – “Blood Moon” (Single Release):

Taking inspiration from Juneteenth, the June 27th, 2025 release of “Blood Moon” (Single) honors the legacy of freed Black people in the United States. It celebrates ancestral resilience and recognizes Black heritage—past, present, and future.

A haunting, jazz-laced track that marks the first sonic step in the Blood Moon Prophecy. Released just days after the summer solstice, it represents a turning point—a call to awaken, reflect, and rebuild.

    •    July 22nd, 2025 – “Pyramid God” (Single Release):

Deepening the jazz-driven atmosphere crafted by Cotola, opening new sonic portals for hip-hop exploration. This release amplifies the ongoing Blood Moon Prophecy rollout while signaling the rise of an emerging creative community. Aligned with the cultural current of Saint-Jean-Baptiste Day (June 24), Canada Day (July 1), and U.S. Independence Day (July 4), Pyramid God echoes a diasporic presence and a collective voice—alive and resonant in this season of reflection, celebration, and emergence.

    •    August 1, 2025 – Blood Moon Prophecy (Full Album Release):

Timed to Emancipation Day in Canada, this album pays homage to the historic and ongoing contributions of Black Canadians. A prophetic soundtrack for liberation and sovereignty—made by and for the people.

The Eclipse Prophecy: A Timeline Written in the Stars

Blood Moon Prophecy is the second installment in the Eclipse Album series—a cosmic timeline of releases aligned with celestial events, culminating in the final project, Eclipse Ascension slated for August 12, 2026. With Cotola’s lush, jazz-drenched, genre-defying production, this album signals a turning point in Montreal’s hip-hop evolution.

And to mark the journey in real time, Clan Supreme will headline the Eclipse Vol. 1 - Hidden Crowns on June 26, 2025, a major live performance and cultural gathering that will celebrate Montreal’s vibrant and independent hip-hop legacy—under the stars and in full cultural alignment.

Cotola: The Sound Architect of the Blood Moon Prophecy

With over 15 years of global influence, Cotola has carved his own path through projects like Agua Negra, the Narco Bolero series, and acclaimed collaborations with Chung, M.A.V., and Obia Le Chef. Recognized by Complex Canada, Exclaim!, SOCAN, and La Presse, Cotola represents the sound of progressive, boundary-pushing hip-hop that is firmly rooted in Montreal’s global voice.

Future Forward: Bridging Borders

The launch of Blood Moon Prophecy also signals the beginning of Bridging Borders, a cultural initiative to connect independent artists in Montreal with collaborators and audiences across the U.S., South America, and France. This is more than just music—it’s about building a transnational network for independent Black artists to thrive.

Why This Matters

Clan Supreme and Cotola aren’t just releasing an album—they’re delivering a history lesson, a love letter, and a prophecy. This isn’t about clout. It’s about legacy. And it’s time Montreal hears it loud and clear:

The real is right here. The fire is real. And the future is Black, bold, and independent.
